Personally I don’t get why people get addicted to WoW. There are definitely better MMOs out there. But on that note I also don’t see whats so bad about using words like Lawl (LoL) or ROFL in regular conversation. Maybe its just because of the school I go to, but it seems fine to me. Its not like its any worse than the nonsense that comes out of rap.

Well, you hit me hard Mitch. WoW turned my girlfriend, yes. My GIRLfriend into the internet acronym using weirdo. It was weird just going to a REAL social event and she was so disconnected from real life it was scary.

I eventually told her she needed to cut it down or cut me out. She actually cut me out at first, and apparently im so awesome she needed me back, so I set fire to the world of warcraft CD and deleted everything off her computer. I think she could have still downloaded it, but she didnt.

It was a tough road, and Mr. Angry Eyes seems a little defensive. Guess your article hit him hard too. People stereotype to make life easier buddy, and unluckily for you, your in the stereotype.

I’m not gonna say how much better, as bad as, or worse I was compared to the WoW stereotype; I just think it’s unfair to judge someone based on one game. Addiction in general is terrible. Alcoholics destroy themselves as much if not more than video game nerds, sometimes they destroy others. I’m just saying give people a chance and judge their character. You addicted people, learn to say “no” to what’s here and now.

Ya, I was an addict. I was in one of the top 20 guild worldwide. I didnt go to school my senior year (well even if i did go id just chill in stage crew) I mainly would drive around the corner in the morning, wait for them to go to work, then go back home and play WoW.

I quit after we downed Illidan. I got my social life back.

Its been a while now and while I do still play casually from time to time, it no longer controls my life =p (My account is mainly to troll the forums while bored at work)

I feel your pain Mitch. When I used to work at the computer store, I got cheewed up by one of those nuts because the last copy of the game was sold. So I kept it real and told him that the money he was spending on this game would be better spent on a hooker to he can get some. Lol… I bet he hates me for life now. =D
